What Does this urine Test Result Mean?

Hello. I am 61 year old female (5’ 8’’, 235 lb) after spine surgery (L4- 5) in the past, now treated also for high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Repeated tests showed the following: Glomenular filtration rate was 54 (result 45 – 59 consistent with mild to moderately decreased kidney function) Urinalysis chemical (similar results shown were repeated few times in the past): Erythrocytes                2 HI     (reference range NEGATIVE) Leucocyte Esterase          25 HI     (reference range NEGATIVE) Kidney - cystae paraplevical bilateral      Incontinentio urine grade 2 (after spine neurosurgery) Proteinurie Do you recommend referral to urologist and/or nephrologist? I would appreciate any additional comments. Thank you. Pauline

YES..referral to a urologist or nephrologist in needed.Your kidney function is reduced and so you are passing erythrocytes and protein in your urine which normally is filtered and preserved by kidneys. There are cyst in your both kidneys also that may be benign in nature. After spine surgery you have developed urine incontinence that needs to be managed.
